Ingredients

Units Scale

Protein:

  • 6 strips bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 2 large chicken breasts, halved lengthwise to make 4 cutlets

Dry Ingredients:

  • Flour, for dredging
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Pepper, to taste

Liquids:

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Other:

  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bacon

  1. In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until crispy (about 10 minutes).
  2. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in the skillet.

Step 2: Dredge and Cook the Chicken

  1. While the bacon cooks, prepare the chicken cutlets. Season with garlic powder and pepper, then lightly dredge each piece in flour.
  2. Add the chicken to the skillet with the reserved bacon fat. Cook over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy. Adjust heat as needed to prevent splattering.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Create the Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, add the chicken broth, lemon juice, and butter. Let the mixture bubble and reduce by half (about 3-4 minutes).
  2. Stir in the heavy whipping cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

Step 4: Finish the Dish

  1. Return the chicken cutlets and crispy bacon to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Serve the creamy bacon chicken hot. Pair it with mashed potatoes, pasta, or steamed vegetables to complement the rich sauce.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the sauce before serving.
  • If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a splash of chicken broth or milk.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
