Description

Thinly sliced potatoes layered with a rich, cheesy cream sauce and baked to golden perfection—comfort food at its best! This indulgent dish is the perfect side for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cream Sauce:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Pour in heavy cream, then add salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Stir until warm, then remove from heat.

2. Layer the Potatoes:

  1. Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
  2. Pour half of the cream sauce over the potatoes, then sprinkle with cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Repeat the process with the remaining potatoes, cream sauce, and cheese.

3. Bake & Serve:

  1. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  3. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Swap cheddar for Gruyère or Swiss cheese for a richer flavor.
  • Add cooked bacon or caramelized onions for extra depth.
