Description

  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for depth of flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta & Broccoli:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Cook pasta according to package instructions, adding broccoli during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
    • Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken:
    • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat.
    • Add chicken, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
    • Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Make the Cheesy Sauce:
    • Reduce heat to medium and sprinkle flour over the chicken. Stir to coat.
    • Gradually pour in milk and chicken broth, stirring constantly.
    • Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Add the Cheese:
    • Stir in cheddar cheese, Parmesan, and Dijon mustard until melted and smooth.
    • Add red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Combine Everything:
    • Add the cooked pasta and broccoli to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce.
    • Simmer for 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
  6. Serve & Enjoy:
    • Garnish with extra cheese or fresh parsley, if desired.
