For the Puff Pastry Carrots
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (for color)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (for color)
- Fresh parsley sprigs (for garnish)
For the Cheese Filling
- 1 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (or fresh chives, dill, or parsley)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Puff Pastry Carrots
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly dust the puff pastry with paprika and turmeric for an orange hue.
- Cut the pastry into ½-inch wide strips and wrap them around metal cone molds or homemade foil cones, slightly overlapping to create a carrot shape.
2. Bake the Pastry Cones
- Whisk the egg and brush it over the wrapped pastry for a golden finish.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before gently removing the cones.
3. Make the Cheese Filling
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Transfer to a piping bag or use a spoon to fill the pastry cones.
4. Assemble & Serve
- Insert fresh parsley sprigs into the top of each filled pastry to resemble carrot greens.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!

- No Metal Molds? Make foil cones or use rolled parchment paper.
