Ingredients

  • 1 large can apple pie filling

  • 1 box butter cake mix

  • 2 eggs

  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1/3 cup milk

  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, melted butter, milk, sugar, and vanilla. Mix until just combined.

  3. Spread apple pie filling evenly in the prepared baking dish.

  4. Pour the cake batter over the apples and smooth the surface.

  5. Sprinkle the butterscotch chips evenly on top.

  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Cool slightly, then sprinkle with coarse salt and garnish with thin apple slices if desired.
