Description

A light and flavorful Italian classic, featuring delicate capellini pasta tossed in a fresh tomato sauce with garlic, basil, and Parmesan—a simple yet elegant dish perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz capellini (angel hair) pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup pasta water (reserved)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

 

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta

    • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Cook capellini according to package instructions until al dente.
    • Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Sauté the Garlic & Tomatoes

    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in cherry tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
    • Cook for 5-7 minutes, until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
  3. Combine with Pasta

    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with reserved pasta water.
    • Toss well to coat the noodles in the tomato sauce.
  4. Finish & Serve

    • Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese.
    • Plate and garnish with fresh basil.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For Extra Flavor: Add a splash of balsamic vinegar or a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil before serving.
  • Make It Vegan: Omit the Parmesan or substitute with nutritional yeast.
