Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs large shrimp, shell-on
  • 1 lb baby potatoes
  • 4 ears corn, cut into thirds
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 3 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 cup beer or chicken broth (optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring water (and beer or broth, if using) to a boil. Stir in Cajun seasoning, Old Bay, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne.
  2. Add potatoes and cook for 12-15 minutes until slightly tender.
  3. Add corn and smoked sausage; cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and add shrimp. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Drain the boil and transfer everything to a large serving platter.
  6. In a small bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic. Drizzle over the seafood mixture.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges. Enjoy with crusty bread or a side of rice!

Notes

  • For extra heat, sprinkle additional Cajun seasoning before serving.
  • Swap beer for chicken broth or water for an alcohol-free version.
  • Serve with garlic butter sauce or cocktail sauce for dipping.
